We have been preparing for the sweet baby.. We have registered on Babyearth.com. We are getting a storm shelter on Tuesday!

Actually, the storm shelter is like a dream come true! I have a totally "rational" fear of tornados. Ever since we moved into this house I have had no hidey hole. At our other house I used to have a small hall closet I thought was adequate. Here, I have had to get both huge dog beds, sit on one and put the other one over my head in the laundry room. Oh yah,,,also, I have on a bicycle helmet, full sleeves and pants, running shoes and grasping both of my 80 lb dogs.

Luke has rushed home several times to find me hiding like this, maybe crying. There really have been a lot of tornado activity by my house since we have lived here.

Once a person has been in one it is obvious what is going on. The air gets really thick and turns a greenish color, your ears start ringing, but a faint ring that you can't really hear. More importantly the atmosphere is calm but the sky is turning. At this point a tornado can form anywhere.

So, yes, I am terrified of tornados. But I am hoping that with my new shelter from Ground Zero I will feel better.
