Yesterday.

Jasper Howard Harry
1996-2009
So yesterday I was in a major funk. But I'm starting to feel better about things. Instead of buying my new bag I am "sponsoring" a woman for a year with Women for Women. It is $27 a month and that money will go towards her learning a skill or starting a business or her tuition so that she may go get an education. All of this will help her break the cycle of poverty in her family and in her community.

See, first this women will be given an opportunity that was thought impossible by this small amount of money. She will teach her children that education is important and be able to send them to school with the money she is able to earn, they will be able to do the same for their children. She will be able to purchase items from other's in her community and they will then see how education/skill has helped and be more willing to send their girls to school so that they may be empowered.

In 4-6 weeks, I will be matched with a women that is in a desperate situation in a third world country. I will read her story and receive a picture and hopefully in the near future I will see how $27 a month has impacted her and her family.

I am so lucky to live in my beautiful home and have a husband that respects me, to have been given the opportunity to go to college and to law school, to have a family that supported me while I was in school, and to be able to adopt little Ikipoo so that he will give us the opportunity to be parents.

I am really sad that it may take longer to go get Ike than I thought. But he is in a good home. He does not know that I cried all yesterday, he has only seen a picture of me and luke. Now with my newly found free time I am going to work on my crafts, like I used too, finish up my garden, finish some of my other projects and hopefully sell lots of houses. :0.

ODD: my mom saw this morning that next to Ike's youtube video it the suggested view of Luke's deceased father's, Barry Meeker, video!!!!!! He was a pretty famous helicopter pilot. Mom thinks its a sign. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GliXihx0QE

Also, Luke's families dog had to be put down yesterday. He was a wonderful dog. He used to pull me around the house as I sat on a towel. He will be extremely missed. He lived to be 13.
