On our way!

So we are on our second of three flights on our biggest journey yet.
We flew from OKC (where I agreed to get to the airport Luke style,
which means hours early, mainly because I almost made us miss out last
flight together and because, lets face it, this is a big deal) to Salt
Lake, which has a huge salt marshy thing we got to fly over for 10
minutes, and now on the way to Seattle.

In Seattle we have a super short thirty minute layover and then we
will be on the Korean Air flight to Seoul.

Booking this flight took me all morning yesterday. "why" you might
ask? Becasue I feel I belong in first class and am constantly trying
to finagle my way up there. Usually it works becuase of my frequent
flyer credit card (which I whole heartedly recommend). This time there
were no dice. But that didn't stop me from calling Delta at least
10-12 time yesterday to try and come up with somethig. Bottom line:
Delta miles do not equal Korean Air miles. But no one will just come
out and say that which is how it took three hours.

Also, I cannot find my credit card that I always use AND we could not
find luke's frequent flyer number. I couldn't book the ticket without
it because there would go any chance of UPGRADE. We called numerous
"Delta representatives regarding this matter and none could find him.
Most likily someone made up a name for him.

Finally, I changed his name and got him a new number. Then we realized
we were leaving on Thursday but not getting there till Saturday! Game
Over and I started again. I screamed at Luke, the dogs and wrote a
horrible review of Delta, probably unfounded but I have almost 200,000
miles and a huge dollar amount of vouchers and was un able to use ANY
of them!

So I booked this flight which left the same day. Our adoption agency
is fairly against next day flights. Our coordinator thinks I'm insane.
Everytime I talk to her always happends to be when I'm at my worst.
But really this flight is much better. Less time. Less money. Less
time to freak out!

So we are rushing to make this connection. But I'm hungry. I had to
stop and get a salad for the plane. I did not think to get a fork. The
guy next to me, I guess, is annoyed that I keep talking about it and
hunts down a flight attendent for a fork. But we are taking off so I
put my salad under my seat. Of course the salad slides so far behind
me I, Luke and poor guy next to me can't reach it. By this point Luke
is determined I will eat my salad. The plane is sqeaking like crazy
(Luke hates sqeaking). The guy behind us isn't paying attention to
both Luke and poor guy to my right so they are trying really hard to
get his attention. I get my salad back. Now I don't want to eat it
because I'm worried the mayo based dressing might be bad and I'll get
sick on my 12+ hour flight. So, I ate the salad with no dressing
feeling very much like a trouble maker :).

Wish us luck with our connecting flight. I was not able to secrue a
first class seat on this flight (or possibly any due to the last
minute nature of my booking) but I did talk the desk agent into
putting us in the first row. I think we can do it?

This made me laugh so hard. I love your salad story. It sounds like me, except it would have been a Starbucks and I would have fogotten the cream for it. :)
