We have had some busy days! Mainly because we still haven't committed to crib naps and are still driving around twice a day for an hour a piece. It is crazy how now my day consists of 'well, we have to go to Target and then we are going to lunch" when before I would have said I had nothing to do and had 10 more errands.
This week, we went to Luke's office; we went to Ike's first party for a friend's first birthday; we have had visitors; we have had multiple play dates, been to a few different malls; Gymboree; saw Santa; worked on walking; and practiced our words and signs. One reason we are so booked is Luke and I have no idea what to do with him all day. We are always out and about, so Ike is too. He loves it!
His favorite thing is still eating. I think it might be partially because he is teething and mostly because he is a BIG boy. We have recently been around a lot of kids and none have been bigger than Ike. When he especially likes a food he will do a little jig in his chair and say "yummmm!" There are really no foods he doesn't like. He didn't like the yogurt sauce a Zorbas, but I think it might have been a fluke.
A lot of you (and I mean a lot. I had no idea how MANY people read this) have been asking about his sleep. It was rough going for a week or so. He really only was having trouble going to sleep. Not staying asleep. Recently, he has been doing a lot better. We haven't tried the crib naps, because last weekend was horrible and to stay sane Luke and I decided to just drive. We might just wait till he starts school in January for them to get him in the crib. Or maybe we will get up enough courage to try again next week. Who knows.. I do know that all of us in this house have had to be a bit flexible and work as a team.
It took Mulder about 1 day to figure out that if he woke up Ike in the morning we would all get up and he would be fed. It took Sculley less time to teach Ike to feed her from his chair. And Ike has figured out that if we are distracted by the furry kids he can bee line for their water bowl. Luke and I are just trying to stay at the top of the chain of command. Wish us luck.

Hello all this is Luke, making a rare showing on the blog. Okay, to everyone who has kids and "shared" advice with me things, which i am sure were sacred pieces of sage advice...I am sorry that i blew you off! I was ready to be a dad but not prepared, this is hard work. Like Amb said we just take him everywhere and make sure that he gets food and sleep and doesn't drink out of the dog bowl so far it works. I am sure i will listen when older wiser parents tell me things now and i am sure i will still blow some of it off; not that i don't care but some of the stuff people come up with is crazy plain and simple. The way i see it maybe little different than some i just want him to be happy and well rounded, i am hoping that we can get him out traveling and help him work on the well rounded portion and hope that we don't screw up bad enough to ruin the happy part. I am sure that he will be just fine since since i have seen in my limited experience as a parent some awesomely poor examples of parenting and their kids seemed okay or at least salvageable. I am having a blast and he is one of the funniest little guys i have ever met and i think the will have big plans for himself in the future and i can not wait to see what happens tomorrow.
