OKC is ICY

Last night during my all weekend Foxie funk, I really wished Luke could stay home with me today, but he has to save all his days for Korea.

Then the Lord gave me an ice storm.  Just kidding, but he did get to come home at noon.  That was great!  However, when one works from home, one does not get days off-so I still had to work.

I knew the roads were bad because Luke saw a ton of wrecks and my parents had to pull a pregnant teenagers out of her upside down car earlier in the day.

This did not stop us from going out for wine and cheese.  We decided it would be a good-no great- idea for us to leave our home with plenty of food and warmth to drive miles to a gourmet food store (which was not gourmet nor exciting) and then get wine.  We even stopped to get scallops and shrimp for dinner.

Everything was going fine, until we were on the road to go home and the truck turned around, popped a curb and tried to go into a fifty foot ditch.  I thought someone might have to pull us out of our upside down car, and (Lord forbid) our wine might bust!  Then we would have to walk home covered in perfectly fine wine and broken glass.

Fortunately, Luke is a master driver and got us out of the mess.  Now we are home safely.

All I could think about during the skidding and hovering over the massive ditch was how I was going to explain to my mom while tied to breathing tubes that we had to try the gourmet cheese shop and get bottles of wine for the ice day.

Good thing now we just have to buy a new wheel and possible a tire?

Oh Amber! I am so glad you two are ok. I have been debating since I got home to go to the Wine Shop but I think that might be a bad idea. Stay Safe!

Wow - so glad Luke's super-human driving skills saved the day (or night, as the case may be)!

I'm sorry to hear about Foxie Lou - it's always so difficult to lose a pet who's been such a large part of your life. Give Mulder and Sculley extra cuddles!

Also, wanted to say that we have an Ergo - I think it's the same carrier you saw on Kelly's (BenBa) blog. It's AWESOME and I can't recommend it enough. It's been a lifesaver (or at least an arm saver). Besides another carseat, that's the 1 item that we consider a necessity for #2. You can wear the baby on your front, back or hip. Do a search on Dillon's board for carriers and you'll find lots of good suggestions.
