Things we have done since we found out about little Ike.

One thing that I have probably done too much of is buy him clothes.  The first thing I did after tell everyone about him was go to the mall with my mom and my friend and pick out clothes.  My mom bought Ike all sorts of stuff.  So far he has 2 board shorts, 1 rash guard, 2 hats, 3 pairs of pants, 2 t-shirts, 2 onesies, 1 fleece jacket, 1 sweater, 2 polos, 2 hoodie sweat shirts, 1 sweat pant, 3 pairs of socks, 1 windbreaker.  That might be it.

I've been working in my garden, which is taken nicely.  Thank you to KC for watering while I was away.

We have also filled out tons of paperwork in order to get him home.  We did all of the paper work the day after we found out about him to expedite the process.  I don't really think it will make any difference, but it might.

We have also been to Rhode Island.  We went to see Luke's family.  We stayed in Newport and were able to do a lot of the things we have never done before while we were there.  We walked the historic cliff walk, which was awesome.  The houses on the cliff walk are amazingly big.  They were the summer homes of the super rich in the 1800's.

It was rainy.  I like to say the Rhode Island is the state where summer never comes.  Mainly because being from Oklahoma, I don't think it is summer till it is 90+ outside.  In RI they lay out on the beach if it is 70.  I would always sit with a hoodie one while locals were in the water. I don't think darker skinned people were meant to be in the cold.

We bought these jackets while we were there.  I don't know when else I will need a rain jacket...maybe for our walks in the winter..but they sure were helpful this last weekend.  I might have froze to death with out it.

We decided that we were going to have a "flat Ike", like "flat Stanley"  Flat Stanley is a paper doll that a child will send with someone who goes one vacation.  YOu take pictures of Flat Stanley at the Eiffel tower or at the statute of liberty. The kid can see where all these places are on the map.  My cousin has a "flat Claire".

This is Luke and his 92 year old grandpa.

Luke's aunt made Ike this awesome quilt!  It must have taken her forever.

If you zoom in here, you will be able to see a mini below this super huge ship.  Who are these people that have cruise-ship type ships to themselves? And how many full time staff does it take to run one of these ships??

I like Newport, but am very excited to be back with regular summer weather.

One thing I have not done since we found out about Ike is work...
